Admissions to the Online Degree Program

To apply to an online degree program, complete the standard application and indicate on the application form that you want to complete the online degree program.

The rules for acceptance are the same as with a student applying to the traditional degree program.

The goal of the online program is to “provide programs to students who are self-motivated and feel comfortable using computer technology for taking online courses.” Students who lack the necessary self-motivation or computer skills tend to drop from an online program. Applicants into the online program will be interviewed via telephone to ascertain the applicant’s level of self-motivation and computer skills.

When you are accepted into an online degree program, your name and information are forwarded to Computer Services to set up your network and email account, and to the online program manager to set up your Moodle account (online classroom management program).

Degree Seeker Admissions Process

To be considered under this category, the student must have 15 or more completed college level semester hours. For students with less than 15 credit hours, see first time degree seeker information below.

Items to be submitted:

• Admissions Application
• No Application Fee
• Official Transcripts from ALL Colleges and Universities attended (even if courses were not completed)
• Transfer Clearance Form from the last College and University attended.

If you have not completed a minimum of 15 College Level semester hours, you will be required to submit your official high school transcripts and official SAT and/or ACT scores in addition to the above items. Please refer to the Freshman Admission Process. For Fall acceptance, students must submit applications by August 1. For Spring acceptance, applications must be submitted by December 1. And applications for Summer acceptance must be submitted by April 1.

Transfer Admissions Standards

Transfer students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.0. Please be advised that grade forgiveness is not considered in the calculation of a cumulative GPA. Transfer students must also be eligible socially to return to all previous colleges and universities.

All former students who wish to return to the University after a period of absence of one (1) semester or more must re-apply. In addition, they must submit a well written essay stating why they left, what they have been doing, and why they wish to return to Webber.

Once you have submitted your application, application fee, and official transcripts, you will receive a transfer evaluation. The evaluation details the transferred courses, credit hours accepted towards your degree and which courses are still required to complete your degree. First time degree seeker Admission Process
First year students entering directly from high school or who have less than 15 semester credit hours must submit for evaluation:

• Admissions Application
• No Application Fee
• Official High School Transcript or GED Results
• Official SAT I and/or ACT scores

*SAT score will be computed based on the Math and Critical Reading sections only.

Students participating in dual enrollment and students with any prior college experience should submit an official transcript from the college or university in order to be considered for transfer credit.

Applicants are notified of their status within three weeks of submitting the application and required documents. Qualified applicants are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
